Victorian Antique Copper & Oak Library Haberdashery Shop Longarm / Book Picker. A fantastic example of an Oak and Copper mounted mechanism haberdashers Longarm. I believe this would have been used in a haberdashery shop to pick out the fabrics front the top shelfs rather than a book picker in a library.

The wrapping mechanism is flat rather than the traditional gripped surface on book pickers. A wonderful piece of late 19 century design. A highly desirable item with a w orking mechanism. In working order, the handle is not sprung so you push and pull it to open and close the grabber.
